***I am not a dermatologist! Please use your own knowledge of your skin when deciding which products to use and consult a dermatologist or don’t use something if you are unsure how your skin will react to it.***

This page contains all the skincare products that I am currently using.

Some of these products I have used for years and will probably continue to use for years. Others, I switch up or rotate in and out of my routine. As this happens, I will update this page to reflect what I am actually using at this point in time.

I will not go into every single permutation of my routine as I tend to be flexible with it. Below is my typical AM & PM routine, meaning this is what I use the majority of the time. There are a few notes below describing the most common changes I make to it. However, depending on how my skin is feeling, I may skip a product one night or use a typical AM product in the PM one time etc. Be flexible and do what is right for your skin!

(V) denotes a vegan product

(C) denotes a “clean beauty” product aka healthier & non-toxic product free from the most common, yucky ingredients
(sulfates, parabens, phthalates, oxybenzone, coal tar, *BTH, *BHA, *PEGs, & triclocarban).
Please note, there is no universal definition for  “clean beauty” or “non-toxic” and each use of the term is open to its own interpretation and standards.

*BTH -butylated hydroxytoluene
*BHA -butylated hydroxyanisole
*PEGs -polyethylene glycol

A note on Drunk Elephant – the brand states that some of their products qualify as vegan but not all. They do not designate which ones those might be. So, I am not calling the brand vegan. However, all their products (that I have looked at so far) say they are made without animal fats/oils/musks but since they don’t call them vegan, I hesitate to do so unless I am 100% positive, like with the Marula Oil because that is literally the only ingredient in it.

**Amazon seems to have different pricing at times. I will put the price next to the Amazon link if and only if it is different then what the brand has set.

*one to two nights a week, after cleansing, I will apply a few pumps of Organic Rosehip Oil and ONLY this to give my skin a break from all the products & to fully absorb the benefits of rosehip oil.

*Organic Rosehip Oil & Marula Virgin Oil are sometimes interchangeable in my routine. There are times when I am only using one of them, both in the AM & PM, or if I run out of one, I just use the other in its place until I restock. Some of their benefits are similar (for example, they both help moisturize & have antioxidants) but they do have benefits that are different as well. Rosehip oil is known to help fade dark spots & scares as well as brighten skin. Marula Oil helps fight wrinkles & is anti-microbial, meaning it kills bacteria that can clog pores & cause breakouts.

*sometimes I will use the Lala Retro Whipped Cream instead of the Anti-Wrinkle Renewal Cream. Depends on my skin needs. The Lala Retro cream is gentler while the Anit-Wrinkle cream contains Vitamin A (to fight aging & wrinkles). I interchange these two products in my routine as needed. Both can be used AM & PM. I love the price & size of the Anti-Wrinkle cream and regardless of what I am using on my face that day or night, I always slather some of it onto my chest before bed.

*anytime my skin is feeling irritated or breaking out, I only use the gentlest of my products for a few days until it starts to clear up. Usually, this means the Rose Hibiscus spray, the Marula oil or Rose oil and the Lala Retro Cream  (if I need the extra moisture) plus sunscreen. Sometimes, I still continue to use the Hydra-B Intensive Hydrating Serum. This also means that for those few days, my AM & PM routine tends to be the same (aside from the sunscreen, obviously).

*when I travel, I pair this routine down a lot! See my latest travel post (here) for which products I tend to bring on trips.

*I use all the cleansers interchangeably as needed. However, I tend to use the Juju Bar more in the PM as a nice exfoliator and deep cleanser, which helps prep skin nicely for all the goodies (serums & oils etc.) to follow. Use as needed but not more than once a day as it is an exfoliator and can cause irritation if used too often. The Milky Jelly Cleanser I use in the PM anytime I’m wearing eye makeup as it’s an excellent make-up remover, sometimes on its own as it’s a great but gentle cleanser that moisturizes skin and doesn’t leave it feeling tight at all. Other times, I will use the Juju Bar first and then follow with it to remove the excess makeup. Some mornings I simply rinse my face with warm water (no cleanser needed). But if my skin is feeling extra dry & needs a little moisture, I will use the Mikly Jelly Cleanser in the AM. The Kale + Green Tea Superfood Cleanser I use in the AM mostly but also anytime (AM or PM) my face feels extra oily. I was using the Brightening Cleanser from Indie Lee, but it started to dry out my skin as the weather changed to fall & winter. The Kale + Green Tea Cleanser feels just right during the dryer seasons & does not stripp my skin.
